THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN CHARITY CATTLE DRIVE
THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN CHARITY CATTLE DRIVE
Tambo to Augathella - 21st June to 30th June - Rest day 1st July
As we head to Augathella for the last week in June, the weather gets more crisp and the days become winter wonderlands in the Outback. The colours of the Outback in winter reflect the earthy tones of greens, ochres, reds, browns and neutrals blending on the horizon with the bluest of clear skies while we slowly meander along behind 2000 head of very contented steers heading for Roma. It's a journey many do not get the opportunity to take.
Augathella has been known as notorious bushranger country where the bushrangers would camp along the Warrago. I am confident that we will not see any bushrangers, however Augathella will most likely have some other surprises waiting for us. Augathella is also often referred to as “Meat Ant Country” it’s the little town with the big heart. Arriving in Augathella on 30th June, our Rest day will be 1st July as we all welcome in the new financial year on the Warrago.
